OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2008. The VOD-30 M-2 main fan has been commissioned on the Listvyazhnaya mine, which is a part of Belon Group.

The new fan manufactured in Donetsk will provide a considerable increase in the amount of air supplied to the mine. This is a necessary condition for the planned load increase on the stoping and development areas. In 2008, the mine production should rise to 3.35 million tons. There are plans to increase the annual output of the enterprise from 2 to 6.5 million tons of coal.

The VOD-30 M-2 fan’s capacity is 16 thousand cubic meters per minute. It can supply the mine tunnels with air volumes needed to meet the industrial safety requirements. The experts estimate the mine’s maximum air demand to be 13–13.5 thousand cubic meters per minute.

In addition, the newly installed fan control system, as compared to the previous one, is fully automated and remotely controlled. The operator's workstation is equipped with a computer terminal.

As the increased supply of air to the mine will require additional electric power, a new distribution substation has been commissioned with a capacity of 500 KVA, and a 6 KV power line has been also erected. To maintain the required temperature in the mining tunnels, a 2.7 km long trunk heating system has been constructed from the water heating facility, which supplies Belon Group enterprises with heat and electricity, to the main fan.

It has taken 6 months to construct the main fan designed by "Giprougol" institute. The new facility commissioning investments have been 167 million rubles.
