OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2008. In navigation 2008, North Western Shipping Company (SZP OJSC) plans to raise its income from cargo transportation by at least 10% to \\$122.466 million. As of today the company has a number of long-term contracts for transportation of conventional export cargo: round timber, metal, fertilizers as well as for transit towing of large-size modules to the region of the Caspian Sea. The terms for cargo transportation to the Far North are under coordination, as well as for transportation of other export-import cargo. The company also forecasts further growth of demand for river transportation of construction materials due to construction boom.

SZP fleet is to be put into operation after winter period on April 12 (2 weeks ahead of schedule). In April it is planned to transport some 50,000 of mineral-and-construction materials from the Ladoga lake pits to the customers of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
