Russian Post Holds Open Writing Lessons
OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2008. Russian Post holds open writing lessons in many regional schools, vocational schools and cadet corps within the framework of all-Russian competition The Best Letter-Writing Lesson in the nomination Letter to Veteran on the eve of Victory Day. Veterans will get the letters of children in holidays, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.
During the lessons schoolchildren talk to veterans, acknowledge wartime correspondence and find out how post helped to communicate with relatives, kept morale and encouraged soldiers.
Children will know more about the Great Patriotic War and feel the value of victory, so they can write profound letters to people who won the cruel war in the name of present life in peace.
Children jointly with Russian Post will present veterans the letters in regional and urban holidays devoted to Victory Day in city clubs and houses of veterans, they can also be sent by post.
First letters in the form of triangles written in schools in Krasnodar have already been sent to home addresses of the veterans. The events will be held in Kirov, Аbakan, Penza, Rostov, Krasnoyarsk and many other Russian cities.

All-Russian competition "The Best Letter Writing Lesson" was established by FSUE Russian Post jointly with CJSC Publishing House Uchitelskaya gazeta. It aims at promotion of Russian epistolary tradition, public focus on Russian language development, careful treatment to native speech and improvement of human internal links.
