OREANDA-NEWS. On June 05, 2008 AmCham was held an annual meeting of its members at the Hyatt Regency Bishkek.  The meeting was attended 71 member-companies of AmCham.  Welcoming remarks were made by U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Marie Iovanovitch and Chairman of the Board of Directors, President TFI Glen Lockwood, reported the press-centre of AmCham.

Executive Director of AmCham Ainura Cholponkulova spoke about priorities, current work and plans of AmCham. According to set goals, AmCham will promote the elimination of trade barriers, protection of intellectual property rights, as well as promote bileteral business relations between the KR and the US.   In addition, AmCham temporarily promotes initiatives and proposals of its members through established committees in accordance with profile interests.  During the meeting chairs fo the committees identified their objectives and work.

Chairs are: 
Niyazbek Aldashev, Chair of U.S.-Kyrgyz Business Committee, General Director, the Legal Company “Lorenz”;

Andrey Krasnikov, Chair of the Tax, Accounting & Law Committee, Head of the Tax and Legal Department of the “Aiten Group” Company;

Muhammad Naeemulah Jan, Chair of the Banking and Finance Committee, General Manager, National Bank of Pakistan;

 Kubat Kartanbaev, Chair of the IT and Communication Committee, General Director, “TOKTOM”;

Emil Sultanbaev, Deputy Chair of Social Affairs & Corporate Responsibility Committee, Director DCCA;

Nurlan Alymbaev, Chair, Business Integrity, Mediation Development, Arbitration and Court Practice Committee, Managing Partner of the “Partner” Law Firm
 
AmCham committees are working on simplification of obtaining permits for  the construction of industrial facilities and acquisition of land; reforming the tax legislation,  restoration of public confidence in banks and finally contribute to the preparation of professionals for the private sector.

Additional two new members were elected to the Board of AmCham in the annual meeting: Ezel Agaoglu, Regional Director, "Coca-Cola Bishkek Botlers", Rustam Khalikov Managing Director "Aiten Group".

U.S. Ambassador to the KR Marie Yovanovitch had a reception at her residence on the occasion of the Annual Assembly of AmCham.
