OREANDA-NEWS. On August 25, 2008 the Krasnoyarsk Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) recognized that "Electron" CJSC violated the antimonopoly legislation. The antimonopoly body imposed over 3 m Rubles fine following the investigation of the proceedings with regard the agreements that restrict competition on the market for selling and servicing checking-and-cashing equipment in Krasnoyarsk, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier the Krasnoyarsk OFAS Russia discovered a contract between "Electron" CJSC and "Shtrikh-М" CJSC (the General Supplier) for supplying and servicing checking-and-cashing equipment. The contract states that the General Supplier sets the lower price threshold for the maintenance center for selling and maintaining checking-and-cashing equipment. According to the contract, the maintenance center can set selling prices for the equipment no lower than the prices recommended by the General Supplier. Тherefore, performing the contract would result in restricting competition on the market for selling and servicing checking-and-cashing equipment by setting and maintaining prices on the market.

Upon discovering the fact of violating Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" that prohibits competition-restrictive agreements, the Krasnoyarsk OFAS Russia imposed administrative charges upon "Electron" CJSC in the form of 3 430 000 Rubles turnover fine.
