OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2008. This is the smallest independent plant of the united technological chain of KAMAZ Inc. in Naberezhnye Chelny. And, at the same time, this is the largest specialized plant overhauling engines and kits for KAMAZ vehicles, producing armored vehicles (KAMAZ-43269 “Vystrel”). For 30 years more than 500 thousand engines, 90 thousand gearboxes, 150 thousand final drives for KAMAZ vehicles found the second life here.

Remdiesel is also an integral part of the company’s history. It was Remdiesel that played one of the main roles on the days of a conflagration at the KAMAZ engine plant. In April 1993 the power unit assembly was mastered there within two weeks. Over the following 44 months, till the burnt plant was fully restored, 78 thousand engines had been coming from Remdiesel to the KAMAZ mother gathering conveyor. The Remdiesel engines saved the KAMAZ production from a long cessation at the very least.

During the last 5 years the economy and production of Remdiesel grew faster than at KAMAZ as a whole: for instance, by 55-57% annually by product yield in roubles. There were produced goods for RUB 1 billion 751 million in 2007 and for RUB 1 billion 507 million within 9 months of 2008 there.

The business field itself considerably increased during these years: a user can overhaul and renew KAMAZ-55111, -53212, -54112, -55102 according to the “trade in” project with replacement of the basic units; modernize a truck with Euro-3 engine installation; conduct a technical expertise, registration and make alterations in the design of vehicles; assess the depreciation value of vehicles which must be repaired and modernized. Security, defence and law enforcement agencies which need armored vehicles can order one of numerous modifications of the above-mentioned “Vystrel”. This is a modern double-purpose vehicle. This year Remdiesel made 11 armored vehicles.

The plant is really small but efficient. This is one of the most stable subdivisions: 70% of Remdiesel employees have the continuity of employment of over 17 years. And the plant is one of the “youngest” ones at KAMAZ by the average age of the staff.
