OREANDA-NEWS. On December 25, 2008 Company KAZAKHMYS PLC, common  shares of which are traded in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) official list first  category provided to KASE the following notice, reported the press-centre of KASE:

Kazakhmys Group was awarded the first place in "Information value" in the fourth annual competition of annual reports "NB Annual Report" by results of 2007,  implemented by the "National Business" (NB) magazine. 26 Kazakhstan companies participated in the competition. The project is aimed at improvement  of transparency and the culture of business information disclosure, promotion of the best practices and attraction of interest of the public and the domestic business to the annual reporting problems.

5 people were involved into the independent jury. Among them Vice-President of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange Bulat Babenov, Chairman of Association of Kazakhstan Financiers Serik Akhanov, Chairman of Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Forum  Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the National Corporate management Council Erkin Kaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and Financial Organizations (AFS) Alina Aldambergen.

John Smelt, the Head of Kazakhmys Group Corporate Relations, said: "We are proud of this award. It is acknowledgment of our efforts on development of our annual reports. As we are one of the largest companies ion Kazakhstan, the accurate reporting is important for us. It helps to inform in details both our employees and shareholders and the local public on our activities and our Group strategy".
