OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 February 2009 was announced, that the commission under presidency of Deputy General Director for Technical Policy Sergey Shumakher has summed up the second stage of the review competition for the best fire-prevention state among the IDGC of Centre's branches. The structure of the commission included Director for Operation and Repairs of IDGC of Centre Dmitry Pankov, Chief of the Technical Inspection Department of IDGC of Centre Oleg Rochagov, Chief of the Industrial Inspection and Labour Safety Service of IDGC of Centre Elena Kalinina.

The winner of the review competition was Orelenergo branch which scored more than 85% of the maximum possible number of points. With an insignificant gap, Voronezhenergo and Lipetskenergo occupied the second and third places accordingly. As a whole in IDGC of Centre, the percentage of performance of actions on fire safety is high enough; it equals 77.6 % of the maximum possible number of points.

"The purpose of carrying out the review competition for the best fire-prevention state among the branches is an improvement of the fire-prevention state of facilities, an increase of the level of preventive works and the level of preparation of the personnel in the field of fire prevention safety," Elena Kalinina explained.

The commission estimated the branches under a set of criteria, such as actual provision of objects with the automatic fire signal system according to standards and rules in effect, the serviceable maintenance of systems of fire-prevention water supplies, observance of rules of storage of fire-dangerous materials and substances, the maintenance of motor transport, the maintenance of fire extinguishing means, the maintenance of the equipment of substations, transmission lines in a fireproof state, performance of requirements of fire safety by manufacture of works, performance of the fire-technical commissions, preparation of the personnel in the field of fire safety.

The commission has made a decision to carry out in 2009 the review competition for the best fire-prevention state of structural divisions of IDGC of Centre's branches for the purpose of a promotion of works on fire-prevention safety and improvement of results.
