OREANDA-NEWS  The most popular caviar among Russians, based on sales volumes, is pink salmon caviar. Its cost as of mid-February was 1.8-2.2 thousand rubles per 200 grams. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to data from the Fish Union and the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (the operator of the Honest Sign system).

In general, the average cost of salmon roe in Russia has reached 9.8 thousand rubles per kilogram. The Kamchatka Territory (more than 100 grams per person), Moscow (80 grams) and the Sakhalin Region (74 grams) became the leaders in its consumption from April to December 2025. At the same time, the Moscow region accounts for almost half of all sales of Russian caviar.

Most often, caviar is bought in metal cans, because the product is stored in them the longest. Glass packaging is in second place, and plastic is in third place.

Earlier, RIA Novosti estimated that the ingredients for making pancakes with red caviar for the whole family on Shrovetide would cost almost four thousand rubles.
