Rosnedra Violated Law «On Protection of Competition»
OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that the Federal Agency for Management of Mineral Resources (Rosnedra) violated Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
Rosnedra violated the antimonopoly legislation because certain actions undertaken by Rosnedra in organizing competitive bidding for the use of subsoil plots led to restricting competition. Violations included, in particular: unlawfully rejecting the bids of economic entities, and determining without competitive bidding a printed source for publishing information on tenders and auctions for the rights to use subsoil plots.
Based on its decision, FAS Russia will issue a determination to Rosnedra to stop violating the antimonopoly legislation.
FAS Russia initiated the antimonopoly case against Rosnedra upon the findings of the inspection organized jointly with the Economic Security Department of the Russian Ministry of Interior.
