Aeroflot Puts into Operation 3rd New A330
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 15, 2009 JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received the 3rd А330-200 by Airbus. The aircraft is named after Iosif Brodsky, a poet, translator, critic and playwright, Nobel Prize 1987’s Laureate in literature, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
This is the 3rd aircraft of this type that has been received under an operational lease contract. The lease holder is AerCap. By April 2010, Aeroflot plans to have received seven more A330s, including two А330-200s and five А330-300s.
The А330 aircrafts have a flying range of up to 12,500 km and can accommodate 241 passengers, and are used by the world’s leading carriers in the long-haul segment. The aircrafts are equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 772 engines.
The new airliners come to Aeroflot in a two-class layout with 34 business-class and 207 economy-class seats. The aircrafts are equipped with the last generation Panasonic eX 2 IFE system with inbuilt wide screen monitors 9 to 16 inches in each armchair allowing the use of multi-channel video&audio programs. The business class compartments have comfortable folding “cocoon” armchairs. The economy class compartments have an increased space between the rows of armchairs for a more comfortable accommodation of passengers.
The company plans to operate the A330 on both international and domestic routes.
Currently, А330 aircrafts fly to Tokyo, Habana and Vladivostok.
