OREANDA-NEWS. On August 21, 2009 JSC “Polymetal” (LSE, MICEX, RTS: PMTL) (“Polymetal” or the “Company”) announced that on August 20, 2009 the Federal Financial Markets Services of Russia registered the issuance of 5,000,000 bonds with a nominal value of 1,000 roubles each and with a tenor of 1,092 days from the date of commencement of placement of the bonds (the “Bonds”), reported the press-centre of Polymetal.

This is one of the steps in a process which allows Polymetal to place the Bonds pursuant to an open subscription (as described in the announcement made by the Company on June 29, 2009). The Company will be able to place the Bonds within one year after the date of registration of the issuance. Polymetal has not yet made a decision in relation to the date on which placement of the Bonds will begin. Such decision will be subject to market conditions.
