OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2009. OAO TATNEFT recertified the integrated management system of industrial safety, occupational safety and environmental safety compliance with international standards ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

A group of leading auditors of the Bureau Veritas Certification Company (BVCR) performed a recertification audit of Tatneft's acting integrated management system of industrial safety, occupational safety and environmental safety compliance with the international standards ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. Experts of BVCR conducted an independent audit of the executive branch of the Company, as well as its structural divisions: NGDU Almetyevneft and the Bugulma Mechanical Plant.

"We saw a very strong Company, which is fundamentally different from other companies, where we used to work. Thrifty attitude, high operation efficiency, and above all, people representing the highly professional staff are the features distinguishing Tatneft, among other companies" said Alexander Nasonov, head of the audit team.

In addition, as it was reported earlier, BVCR began determination of the project "Effective utilization of associated gas at the facilities of OAO Tatneft". This project aims at useful utilization of the associated petroleum gas (APG) in Tatneft. The project provides for installation of electric power generators or heaters working with application of APG. This will significantly reduce the use of energy obtained through the power mains or through burning of fossil fuels and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.
