OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2009. As the Chairman of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek has announced on Tuesday after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat, the financial assistance from the EU is "always possible".

"As you know, we start negotiations with Moldova on the new agreement on the associative membership, there is the Eastern Partnership, the program of EU’ s relations with the six countries of the Eastern Europe, including Moldova", - said Buzek, stressing the importance of introducing "structural reforms" in Moldova.

"It is important to overcome the economic crisis throughout the Europe and in this regard the Republic of Moldova has significant problems" - also said Buzek. "The European Parliament is very interested in democratic and stable Moldova", - he added.

In his turn, Vladimir Filat noted that the EU is ready to provide financial assistance to Moldova. "We need to work together. We hope that with the help of IMF, this assistance will be sufficient to overcome the unprecedented budget deficit, which we face now, "- said Filat.
