Belarus Raises Cigarette Output Quota 6% to 21.1 bln Units
OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2009. The Belarusian cigarette output quota for 2009 has been raised 6% to 21.1 billion units by resolution #1373 of the Council of Ministers, a source in Belgospischeprom concern told.
OAO Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman now has a production quota of 14.1 billion cigarettes, up 5.2%, and Tabak-Invest is enabled to produce 7 billion cigarettes, up 7.8%.
The decision aims at providing sufficient import-substituting commodities to the domestic market.
The cigarette production quota for 2009 had originally been set at 19.9 billion cigarettes, up from 19.5 billion cigarettes in 2008.
