Moldovan GDP Will Decrease by 6% in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2009. As IDIS Viitorul economic experts predict, in 2009 nominal GDP will make about 59 billion leis or 3.8 billion less than in 2008.
At the same time, the real growth will be negative and will make 7.8 %. The volume of foreign trade in comparison with the previous year will reduce: exports will make US 1,173 million (26.3% less) and imports - US2,797 million (42.9% less).
The experts also predict a sharp decline in imports, which will lead to the reduction of trade deficit. The trade deficit will amount to US 1,624.5 million and negative trade balance will make 41,9%. The same situation was observed in 2006, when the negative trade balance amounted to 39%.
According to the experts, in 2009 the deflation of 1,7% will be registered in Moldova. According to IDIS Vitiorul forecasts, the exchange rate of leu vs. dollar will fall and will reach 10.9 leis per U.S. dollar and rate of euro to leu in the last quarter will amount to 15.83 leis.
The annual revenues of the national public budget will total 23 billion 905 million leis, expenditure – 28 billion 022 million leis and national public budget deficit- 4 billion 116 million leis. The experts note that the Government will be able to pay pensions and salaries by means of the external borrowings.
