OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2009. E4-SibCOTES’ engineers have won prizes at the Young Professionals in Power Engineering Competition, which was arranged by Siberian ENTS (a member of E4 Group).
 
The participants were under 35, and they represented E4 Group itself and its business units. The judging panel was to assess both individual and team projects that had been executed independently or under the supervision. The scope of issues tackled at the contest included power industry management, design, operation, re-equipping, automation, diagnostics and repair of thermal- and hydropower plants, heating and power networks.
 
At the contest concluding stage, arranged as a video conference, engineers from several business units of Siberia and St. Petersburg held their presentations and answered the Jury’s questions online.
 
The first prize in the Heat Generation and Heat Generation Equipment category was awarded to Anna Sergeeva, 1st grade engineer, Business Development Department, E4-SibCOTES for her paper ‘3D mathematical modelling of coal (Ekibastuz) firing system with tangentially arranged swirl burners. A case study for a boiler furnace at a 600 MW power unit’.
 
In the Power Supply Networks category, the presentation ‘Frequency regulation of network pumps equipped with bypass at the Step-Down Pumping Station No.10\' by Denis Shebalkov and Ivan Zamyatin, Automated Control Systems and Metrology Department engineers, received 3d prize.
 
E4-SibCOTES and E4 Group on the whole made support of young professionals one of the top social policy priorities. Thus, within the framework of the policy the company creates workplaces for entry level engineers and trains them to build their expertise.
