SEB and Eesti Post Extend Post Bank Contract
OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2010. SEB and Eesti Post have extended their partnership agreement for the operation of Post Banks in post offices all over Estonia until 31 January 2013, reported the press-centre of SEB.
There are more than 350 post offices in the country providing the SEB bank services under the Post Bank trademark, the majority of which are located in rural areas. With the Post Banks, SEB's services are offered in almost 400 branches and offices around Estonia.
“SEB and Eesti Post have been working together to provide bank services for thirteen years, and in that time more and more people have made use of them,” said Riho Unt, director of Retail Banking and Technology in SEB and a member of the bank's management board. “We feel it's very important that key bank services remain available to clients in rural areas, however much online banking continues to grow in popularity.”
“We want to take the Post Bank service to a new level – one that will allow post offices to provide an even wider range of financial services,” explained Aavo Karmas, a member of the management board of Eesti Post.
SEB offers services in Post Banks that meet clients' needs. More than 300,000 transactions are made in Post Banks each year, covering all basic clients needs, from payments to cash transactions. In addition to opening accounts, clients at Post Banks can apply for bank cards, sign Internet bank agreements and set up direct debits and standing orders. The same prices apply at Post Banks as in SEB branches.
