OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2010. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol hosted its annual Schiphol Aviation Awards, recognising exceptional performance among airlines in 2009. First among distinguished was Estonian Air with the prize for most punctual airline.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has been presenting this annual award since 1994 to highlight the importance it attaches to punctuality. This year's focus was on punctuality scores at peak hours. The punctuality award for 'Europe' went to Estonian Air, which launched operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in 2009. The 'Intercontinental' category winner was Royal Jordanian, which has been flying to and from Schiphol since 1975.
 
“The title awarded by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is very important recognition for us – being the most punctual among big international airlines and providing excellent services is the approach the whole Estonian Air team is striving to,” says Rauno Parras, Estonian Air Vice President Commercial.
 
In addition, awards were handed out in other categories as well. The winner of the Environmental Capacity Award was KLM. The Passenger Airline Award recipient was Delta Air Lines.
