OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2010. Meeting of representatives of the company, Carnegie-Mellon University and “New Astana University” took place in Central administration of Kazakhtelecom JSC by means of video conferencing in Almaty and Astana, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

Possibilities of further cooperation in the sphere of IT education that can promote the quality improving for telecommunication specialists training of the country within the meeting.

At present lack of professional IT specialists is observed that correspond to international level, demand for which will constantly grew in results of information and communication market development.

Participants of the meeting discussed wide spectrum of problems, having mutual interest in the sphere of personnel training and profile education. In particular, representatives of Carnegie Mellon University and “New Astana University” interested in issues concerning future graduates' needs and determining the list of necessary professional skills. Possible specialized courses by teachers of Carnegie-Mellon University were actual for Kazakhtelecom JSC.

“New Astana University” – large-scale educational project on establishment of international level institution in the capital of Kazakhstan. This institution has been established by decree of the Head of state and called to become the national brand with all advantages of local education system and the best world scientific –educational base.

“The main task for us is training of highly qualified specialists for telecommunication sphere, - noted Mr.Gil Teron, Chief executive director for iCarnegie, affiliated company of Carnegie Mellon. – We want to study market needs in professional personnel and specify the list of necessary professional skills, which shall have graduates– potential employees of Kazakhstan telecommunication companies. Thus our meeting is so meaningful for us.

As noted Mr.Alexander Lezgovko, Chief technical director for Kazakhtelecom JSC that first of all the base sphere knowledge are important for employees of such company as Kazakhtelecom JSC.

“When training specialists on servicing concrete equipment or technologies which are of high demand today, definite risks can arise and that at any changes specialists who has no special skills can not adapt to new environment and new technologies”, - said Mr.Alexander Lezgovko.

As it is known the whole system of educational and personnel development by different directions connected with production and business-processes functions in Kazakhtelecom JSC. An active work on employees advanced training is carried out in the company. Direction “Academy of inforcommunication technologies” has been established in December 2009 on base of former branch – Advanced training center with 30 years experience, professional teachers and necessary infrastructure.

Widening of professors and teachers composition is planned with opening of the Academy and choosing of programs and methods of training. An accent to scientific and design works and researches will be made which will allow working in the future on creation of conditions for passing masters course in the sphere of infocommunication technologies for specialists in the Academy.

Souvenirs have been presented after negotiations between representatives of the universities. Parties expressed their readiness to further cooperation after the meting.
