OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2010. Profits of the Moldovan insurance companies in I quarter of 2010 amounted to 47.4 million leis, or almost twice as much than at the same period of the last year. According to the National Commission for Financial Market, in I quarter of this year, total assets of the insurance companies in Moldova amounted to 1 billion 628.1 million leis, or 19.7% more than in I quarter of 2009.

At the same time, over the first three months of this year, net assets of the insurance companies amounted to 893 million leis or 234.4 million lei (+35.5%) more than in January-March 2009, share capital – by 389,3 million leis (17.4%), the insurance reserves and funds – by 495.2 million lei (11.4%). During the reporting period, premiums of the insurance companies amounted to 192.6 million leis (7.7%), reimbursements - 77.12 million leis (15.4%).

Thus, the ratio of the insurance premiums and payments in 2009 amounted to 40%. In I quarter of 2010 24 insurance companies operated at the Moldovan market.
