OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. The young specialists of TNK-BP Sibir Branch in Tyumen who participated in the Accelerated Drilling Competency Development Program should take qualification exams in front of a special commission some of these days, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

According to Victor Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Branch, the young specialists rose from trainees with contractor drilling crews to drilling supervisors and engineers over the last three years working for various company divisions in Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Area – Yugra, Orenburg, Tyumen and Irkutsk regions. TNK-BP provided the specialists with the required conditions for training throughout this period. It compensated rental expenses to nonresident trainees, provided health insurance, and raised salaries each year upon successful exams. The young specialists passed through nineteen various courses from ‘Learn to Study’ to ‘Project Risk Management’ in the course of the Program.

‘The folks are to demonstrate their knowledge once again now by passing this important test to continue their career with TNK-BP, Victor Tkachev said. – It is safe to say that we made no mistake when selecting the candidates three years ago. This is witnessed by the feedback from the mentors who supervised the traineeship and the high performance in annual exams. Graduation 2010 will be the second one in the company. Thanks to this graduation, the teams of company subsidiaries will get 28 specialists who are valuable to TNK-BP and possess qualitatively new knowledge in drilling management and supervision’.

TNK-BP launched the Accelerated Drilling Competency Development Program for young specialists in 2006. The Program participants were graduates of Russian oil and gas universities who were up to 30 years old. 18 specialists graduated successfully from the Program in 2009.
