Poland Signed Letter of Intent on Baltic-Adriatic Corridor
OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. On 23 June 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gdynia Sea Towers premises the marshals of seven provinces situated along the route of the Polish section of the Baltic - Adriatic Transportation Corridor: Pomorskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Warmiсsko-Mazurskie, Mazowieckie, Јуdzkie, Wielkopolskie, and Њl№skie signed the Letter of Intent on tightening of the inter-regional co-operation for the benefit of the creation of the development conditions for the Baltic - Adriatic Transportation Corridor in Poland.
The Baltic - Adriatic Corridor is of a great significance for the strengthening of the Gdynia Harbour position in handling cargoes of the trade exchange between Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Middle-Europe countries. It also constitutes an important route for the Baltic sea region starting in Gdynia and ending in Bologna.
Two other documents have also been signed: an application to the Polish Prime Minister on the elaboration of the "Development Plan for the North-South Corridor Zone in 2010-2013", and an agreement between the ARCA (Amber Road Cities Association) and the Baltic Link Association on awarding the Goeteborg - Karlskrone - Gdynia route with the status of the European Road (on the Polish side including Kwiatkowski Road and others).
The ceremony of the signing of the Letter of Intent took part during the conference "Baltic - Adriatic Corridor", organised as associated event to the "Baltic Saloon of the Maritime Economy" (22-24 June).
