OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2010. This was informed by Anton Nazarov Public Relations Director OJSC Inter RAO UES appearing on the Transdniestrian TV. He noted the specialists of the station and Inter RAO UES – station’s owner, developed the variants of Moldavskaya GRES electricity supply to the Eastern countries. He emphasized the company worked out various export variants of electricity supply through Romania and the Ukraine in the “third countries.”

Particularly, the company prepares the project on export of electricity to Turkey through Georgia. The possibilities of electricity supply through Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan are worked out. According to Anton Nazarov, all projects are unique and will make it possible to provide the Eastern countries with electricity, where its shortage is especially tangible. Representative of Inter RAO UES noted that Moldavskaya GRES was making a renewal of the equipment resulting in the increase of station’s output.

For the present Moldavskaya GRES exports electricity to Romania. Moldavskaya GRES is one of the largest power plants in the Eastern Europe. The total installed capacity of 12 power units is 2 thousand 520 MW. Maximum demand of all Moldavian energy system is 1,1-1,2 thousand MW. Moldova, Southern regions of the Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and the Balkan states may be provided with electricity by the existing electricity transmission lines. Since August 2005 Moldavskaya GRES is a part of Inter RAO UES group.
