OREANDA-NEWS. December 2, 2010. The training center at NAK Azot (Novomoskovsk, Tula Region) hosted a workshop on the classification and tagging of chemical products in compliance with the European REACH and CLP regulations.

From December 1, 2010, REACH regulations for the registration, evaluation, and authorization of chemicals imported into the European Union take effect. According to REACH requirements, even chemicals that are parts of other products imported into the European Union will be subject to registration. The REACH regulations not only impact European enterprises, but also directly affect manufacturers from other countries, including Russia.

Among the workshop participants were representatives of EuroChem’s quality management network and central laboratories, as well as the company’s Swiss partners. Since 75% of EuroChem’s products are exported, compliance with all of the requirements of recipient countries is a prerequisite for successful and stable business.

“Implementation of this system is of utmost importance to large, modern companies like EuroChem. REACH is based on the principle of the manufacturer’s responsibility. The company must be certain that its chemical products imported to the European market are safe for people and the environment. It is very important that EuroChem has become one of the first companies in Russia to meet these requirements,” said Dayan Spasuevich, an expert invited to the workshop.
