OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2011. Totally, Uzbek insurers paid out 27 billions of insurance claims. The present index exceeds the index of the previous year by 30.4%. However, in 2010 growth rates reduced versus the previous year rates by 3.1 percentage points.

The growth of insurance payouts in 2010 was mainly provided both by increase of payouts in voluntary insurance and compulsory insurance. To be noted, the growth rates of compulsory insurance payouts have been exceeding the growth rates of voluntary insurance payouts for the last four years.

The most rapid growth falls to 2009 and 2010. In 2009 compulsory insurance payouts grew 3.6 times and amounted to 5.5 billion soums. The insurance payouts continued to increase in 2010 and comprised 8.5 billion soums, exceeding the last year index by 55.8%.

Voluntary insurance payouts in 2010 amounted to 18.5 billion soums, adding 21.1% versus the previous year. The share of compulsory insurance in the structure of insurance payouts started to increase starting 2009, a year later than in the structure of insurance premiums.

In 2008 the share of compulsory insurance in insurance payouts made up 9.9%. In 2009 the index added 26.4%, continued to grow in 2010 and amounted to 31.6%.

On the results of 2010 the share of compulsory insurance in insurance payouts made up 68.4%, the index lower than the figure in insurance premiums by 4.9%. According to experts, the tendency is natural due to specificity of compulsory insurance that is notable for higher level of unprofitableness in comparison with voluntary insurance.
