OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2011. Bakcell, the first mobile operator in Azerbaijan, is pleased to announce the finalists of the “Bakcell Graduate” program in partnership with Khazar, Qafqaz and Azerbaijan Technical Universities.

The aim of the Bakcell Graduate program is to support the development of young professionals in the field of mobile telecommunications. Seven students successfully passed the selection procedure and were offered a three month internship at Bakcell. These students will get a chance to obtain practical experience at the Network Engineering, Customer Experience, Regulatory and Carrier Services, Corporate Communications and Finance Departments of Bakcell.

Below is the list of the Bakcell Graduate program finalists:

Togrul Eyyubbeyli – Qafqaz University

Rafi Rahimov – Qafqaz University

Mammad Shahmaliyev – Qafqaz University

Musakhan Azizov – Azerbaijan Technical University

Roza Ismayilova – Qafqaz University

Vugar Gasimov – Qafqaz University

Suleyman Aliyev – Qafqaz University

In the meeting with the finalists at Bakcell Head office last week, Ms. Ineke Botter, CEO of Bakcell said: “We want young people to know more about the telecommunications business and it was very encouraging to get full support from the universities for the Bakcell Graduate program.  By getting hands-on experience at Bakcell the students will get to know this innovative industry and find out what the employment opportunities are.”

The graduates will be closely monitored by their professors and write a thesis for their university at the end of the program. A monthly stipend of 250 AZN will be provided to each student. Upon successful completion of the internship, the graduates of the program will be considered for available job vacancies at Bakcell.

Bakcell has invested in several large HR projects for young people: Bakcell and Junior Achievement Azerbaijan’s ‘Introduction to Mobile Telecommunication Business’ program for the technical major students, Bakcell and AIESEC’s exchange program for the young graduate workers and the Bakcell Graduate program for university students.
