OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2011. According to the preliminary results disclosed by Astarta on Feb 18, the company’s EBITDA gained 69% to UAH 960mn (84% in EUR equivalent to EUR 92mn) , whilst its revenue grew 59% to UAH 2,154mn and gross profit increased by 82% to UAH 810mn in 2010.

Millennium Capital: the news is POSITIVE for Astarta. Increasing volumes of sugar sales coupled with a positive pricing environment led to a double-digit growth in revenue metrics. Ultimately, the company saw a marked improvement in the core profitability ratios, specifically EBITDA margin edged up to 45% in 2010 (vs 42% in 2009), whilst gross margin jumped to 38% in 2010 (vs 33% in 2009).
