OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. Today Kashima Steelworks shipped light-weight H beams, pipe piles and steel sheets. This is Kashima’s first shipment to its customers after the earthquake of March 11.

Sumitomo Metal Industries will do its best to fulfill customers’ needs by delivering products that help reconstruct the communities in the damaged areas.

Regarding the resumption of manufacturing, utilities in the steelworks such as water have been restored. We are thus making progress in restarting production at the  blast furnaces in Kashima.
