OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. Moldtelecom has to convince the government of the efficiency of investments made in 2010 and transparency of purchases, - Valerii Lazar. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy said that at the meeting of the Moldtelecom’s Administrative Board during which the company’s leadership presented a report on 2010 investments.

Valerii Lazar said the presented analysis would enable to find needed reserves for the gradual tariff rebalancing that will not affect the population. In the Minister’s opinion, some of the latest investments of the company were caused by the fact that the country’s former leadership obliged the enterprise to launch new kinds of communication services without taking into account their profitability or market situation.

Valerii Lazar believes that it is for this reason that the Moldtelecom’s management will be arguing the decision on the further investment of considerable amounts to carry out the respective measures until the number of users of these services grows considerably. The Ministry of Econony’s head said the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communication should speak regarding this matter, as bearing direct responsibility for the policy in the telecommunications sector.
