OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2011. The Government approved the draft Law of Ukraine "On State Programme" Drinking Water of Ukraine "for 2011-2020, amending the Law of Ukraine" On State Programme "Drinking Water of Ukraine" for 2006-2020.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing, and Communal Services of Ukraine Viktor Tyhonov this announced. He informed that changes to the program "Drinking Water of Ukraine", which was calculated for 2006-2020 due to several circumstances. According to the official, during the implementation of the program since 2006, was developed a number of new technologies and equipment, put into effect new regulations, which regulates the issues related to implementation of the document.

"Scope of centralized water supply and wastewater are losing their economic attraction for investment, growing dissatisfaction of population with the terms and quality of water supply and wastewater services. This program is addressing these issues. The Government will provide the population with quality drinking water "- Viktor Tyhonov said. He added that there would be ordering zones of sanitary protection of sources of drinking water supply, construction and reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities with the latest technology, emergency replacement of sewer networks and buildings on them.

"We will implement additional cleaning station on its water supply systems and ensure laboratory quality control of water and sewage control and analytical equipment to drinking water will consistent all standards” - Viktor Tyhonov said.

The program provides to organize zones of sanitary protection of sources of drinking water in 2234 intake, to construct and reconstruct 570 water facilities, implement of 23 000 additional cleaning stations water and points their spill; to construct and reconstruct 131 sewage; to develop 1230 optimization schemes of water supply systems and wastewater services, equip 356 water quality control laboratories.
