OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter referred to as “MMC Norilsk Nickel” or “the Company”) participates in Transport Logistics 2011 exhibition, which held in Munich, Germany. Transport Logistics is a biennial event and is one of the most representative and renown international forums in the industry, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.

At the exhibition, MMC Norilsk Nickel shall present the transportation infrastructure of the Company in view of the expected considerable increase of cargo traffic to the Company’s operations from Europe, South East Asia and the USA.

MMC Norilsk Nickel shall demonstrate to the international community the particular features and the potential of the Company’s transportation infrastructure both in Russia and worldwide. The exhibition stand of MMC Norilsk Nickel is an integral part of the exposition of the Russian Federation, showcased by the Russian Ministry of Transportation. This is in line with the Company image of the biggest Russian mining and metallurgical company which has its own arctic fleet operating under the flag of the Russian Federation.

Transportation and logistics business unit of MMC Norilsk Nickel ensures freight forwarding of all Company cargos by means of water, rail, truck, and air transportation. In 2010, the cargo traffic throughout the Company facilities, served by the business unit, totaled around 2.5 million tons, of which over 1 million tons were transported through the Northern Sea Route.

Arctic transport fleet of MMC Norilsk Nickel is comprised of five ice-strengthened sea vessels with freight carrying capacity of 16 thousand tons each. The vessels ensure round-the-year regular transport connection between sea ports of Dudinka, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Rotterdam, and Hamburg. In 2010, the Company’s own sea vessels made 54 voyages, 12 direct voyages to European ports and 1 voyage to South East Asia.
