China Airlines Signs Strategic Agreement with Zhejiang Tourism Group
OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2011. China Airlines (CAL) proudly announces the signing of a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with the Zhejiang Tourism Group, the largest and most influential travel service provider in eastern China's Zhejiang Province. The agreement was signed by CAL General Manager Huang-Hsiang Sun and Zhejiang Tourism Group General Manager Yu Yueming at a special ceremony held at the Kaohsiung Grand Hi-Lai Arena Banquet Hall. Following the agreement's signing, both sides will actively combine resources to speed up interaction between Taiwan and Zhejiang so that tourism exchanges may be increased at a time when Taiwan is about to begin permitting trips by individual mainland Chinese tourists, reported the press-centre of China Airlines.
The Zhejiang Tourism Group is the largest and most influential state-owned travel service provider in Zhejiang Province, with operations including hotels, travel agencies, advertising and ticket reservation services, as well as the province's most complete internet-based travel services portal. The group is Zhejiang's leading comprehensive travel service provider, with more than 30 separate enterprises operating in more than 130 branch offices around the province. CAL is Taiwan's largest and best-trusted airline and presently operates six round-trip flights per week linking Taichung, Kaohsiung to Hangzhou and Ningbo in Zhejiang Province. This new cooperation between CAL and the Zhejiang Tourism Group, based on the principles of equality and mutual advantage, will further improve service and competitiveness in both markets.
Development of the mainland China market has become a major priority for the China Airlines Group, which presently operates 76 weekly passenger flights to 17 airports in 16 cities across mainland China. By actively developing the mainland China market and working through strategic alliances with mainland-based airlines and travel industries, CAL will continue deepening cooperative relationships to establish CAL as the leading brand for cross-Taiwan Strait transportation services, while also helping Taiwan to achieve its goal of becoming a major transportation hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
