OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2011. Compared to the previous year, the number of registered enterprises with foreign capital reduced by 13.3%, the volume of investments – 3.4 times. According to the Registration Chamber’s data, 7.7 thousand enterprises with foreign capital are registered in Moldova, with the total volume of investments amounting to 6.6 billion leis.

These indicators don’t take into account the enterprises, excluded from the state register. The biggest amount of investments account for investors from the Netherlands – 1.51 billion leis (21% of the total volume of investment), Cyprus – 919.3 million leis (13%), Russia – 885.9 million leis (12%), Germany – 448.6% (6%).

At the same time, the most enterprises were covered by investors from Romania – 1,168 companies (14% of the total number of companies with foreign investments in the authorized capital), Turkey – 865 companies (11%), Italy – 829 (10%), Russia – 790 (10%), Ukraine – 623 (8%). It’s interesting that about 48% of investment in the north of Moldova were made by Ukrainian investors, 20% - Austria, 13% - German and Canadian, each. In the south of the country, 66% of investment account for Latvia, 30% - Italy. The country’s central part is mostly interesting for investors from Italy – 41%, Greece – 28% and Portugal – 17%.
