0,1% Deflation Registered in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2011. In January-July 2011, the inflation rate in the country amounted to 4.9 percent, according to the National Statistics Office. The consumer price index for the last 12 months – from July 2010 through July 2011 – increased by 8.3 percent in Moldova.
Particularly, food prices in January-June 2011 increased by 5.5 percent, prices for non-food products grew 2.4 percent, fees for services provided to population – 7.2 percent. At the same time, in July 2011, food prices reduced by 0.9 percent in comparison with the previous month, prices for non-food goods grew 0.4 percent. Fees for services rendered to population increased by 0.1%. In July this year, prices for fresh vegetables went down by 15.2%, traditionally for this time of the year. Prices for potato reduced by 14.3 percent, water-melons and melons – by 10.8 percent, fresh fruit – 0.9 percent.
At the same time, prices for diet eggs increased by 48.7 percent, sugar – by 2.9 percent, strong drinks – 2.6 percent, mineral water and pork – 1.2% in both cases. According to the official statistics, prices for most non-food goods in July remained unchanged. At the same time, prices for building materials grew 2.4 percent, tobacco goods, tables – 1.7 percent. The cost of fuel reduced by 0.2 percent. Prices for clothes, computers, mobile telephones and some consumer electronics reduced by 0.3%. Fees for international railway transportation increased in July this year by 4.3 percent, for photo-services – by 9 percent.
