OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2011. LLC TNK-Uvat is going to double the volume of supplies to the Uvat project fields in winter 2011–2012 compared to the previous winter season. More than 322,000 tons of materials and 60,000 tons of fuel will be supplied to the fields by winter roads, which will be build marshlands when cold weather sets in, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
Last winter, 166,000 tons of materials and 34,000 tons of fuel was supplied to the fields. Oleg Domaratskiy, Deputy General Director, Supply Chain Management and Service Support, LLC TNK-Uvat, explains the considerable growth of supplies by the increased volume of drilling works and the necessity of infrastructure development in Uvat. According to him, most of these supplies will consist of tubulars, valves, road slabs, cables, and other products required for construction of infrastructure facilities in new fields of Uvat.
The longest pipeline in Uvat will be 354 km long. This pipeline will connect the settlement Turtas with the Urnenskoe field and cross two rivers – Imgyt and Urna, where new bridges will be constructed. Operation of winter roads will depend on weather conditions. Last season, operation of winter roads began on January 6. “In the period of pipeline construction, development of the Uvat project fields in 2012 will depend on transportation of materials and fuels by winter roads,” said Oleg Domaratskiy.
