OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2011. China will unveil a list of hundred-plus foundry pig iron producers including Xinxing Ductile Pipe for legal identification.

Those not mentioned on the list will be phased out by the end of 2015. In the recent years, there have been cases of small blast furnaces switching production to foundry pig iron in order to avoid the fate of being closed for illegal operations.

The action will help address the problem of overcapacity in the sector and stabilize the price of pig iron. Inferior casting tube plants will find it more difficult for them to survive without support by low cost materials.
