Ukraine Exceeded Amount of Making New Forest Cultures by 5.2% of Plan
OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2011. The Chairman of the State Agency of Forest Resources Victor Sivets has reported that this year, the State Agency of Forest Resources has exceeded ovolumes of making new forest cultures by 5,2 % of the scheduled.
"According to the Forestry Department of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine, since the beginning of the year, planted forests established on the area of 47,260 hectares, representing 105.2% of tasks, including 21,830 hectares of new forests in unproductive and erosion dangerous lands, respectively equal to 101.1 from the task," Victor Sivets has underlined. As he said, the main coniferous forest forming species are - a pine ordinary, a pine of Pallas, a common spruce, a fir, a larch, and floriferous wood - an oak ordinary, an oak northern, a beech, an ash-tree, a maple, a birch, an acacia.
In 2011, it was allocated 96 million UAH for a forestation from the state budget. It should be noted that the average cost per hectare of forest is 4400 UAH. Therefore, the majority of new forests were created at their own expense of forestry enterprises.
