OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2012. The automated system of commercial energy metering of TATNEFT, commissioned in 2005, has passed a regular certification. Order of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology No. 6420 of December 26, 2011 approved the type of the measurement equipment and included the "Automated Information and Measuring System of Commercial Energy (Power) Metering" in the State Register of measuring equipment, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The work on integrating the system into the State register of measuring equipment was initiated by the Company's Energy Department for the purpose of optimizing the cost calculations for consumption of the electrical energy and power. Approval of the measuring equipment type of the automated system of commercial electric power metering was preceded by considerable preparatory work successfully performed by OOO "Tatintek" under the guidance of the Information Technology Department and the Energy Department of TATNEFT.

The automated system of commercial energy metering provides for hourly measurement, collection and processing of data on the power consumption from 1059 commercial metering points located at the substations of TATNEFT and "Grid Company".

The system provides TATNEFT and the other companies of the Group, powered by electricity networks of the Company with the opportunity to make payments for electricity in 2012 choosing the optimal price of the six categories introduced by RF Government Decree No. 877 of November 04, 2011.

However, for the purpose of a more complete adaptation of the newly certified metering system to work with continuously changing regulatory rules of the retail electricity market and compliance with the technical requirements of the wholesale electricity market additional upgrading is required. This will allow the enterprises of TATNEFT's Group of Companies expanding the choice of the most cost-effective option of purchasing the electricity (power) at the wholesale market or from a guarantee supplier or an independent sales company at the retail market of electricity (power).
