First Vice PM to Address Situation with Kyiv Department Store
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2012. The First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev stressed the need to quickly deal on the situation with raider takeover of the department store "Ukraine" (Kyiv). He stated this at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating to illegal acquisition and takeover of companies.
According to the Commission last year there was violated the rights of majority shareholder of the department store, that owns the 92.7515% of the share capital (Swedish company Quinn Holdings Sweden AB) - in November 2011 a group of persons unlawfully taken over control over the activities of the department store.
As a result, there has been seized all the property of Quinn Sweden Holdings AB in Ukraine, including the shares of "Department Store "Ukraine ". Also, according to the Commission it has been blocked enforcement of decisions of the four general meetings of shareholders and the supervisory board of company to change the director.
The newly appointed head cannot get into the office of the department store. Also, the former leadership of the department store does not transfer seals and documents.
This became possible due to deliver seven judgments by the Commercial Court of Kyiv that prohibited entering data in the Unified State Register of legal entities and individuals entrepreneurs.
In addition, according to the Commission, based on forged documents, the former management of the department store carries out attempt to charge from the company of 45 million US dollars.
Participants of the meeting have made the decision on the necessity of involving representatives of central executive bodies and Prosecutor General to detailed examination of activities of officials of the District Administration, judges and representatives of law enforcement bodies.
