OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2012. VTB Group has granted a USD 150 million loan to JSC ALROSA, the world’s leading diamond miner. VTB Bank (Austria) AG, a VTB Group’s European sub-holding member, acted as a deal agent, reported the press-centre of VTB Group.

“This deal is another step in expanding cooperation between two strategic partners - VTB and ALROSA, which confirms VTB’s readiness to offer comprehensive and high-quality customer service”, Andrey Burlinov, VTB Bank Senior Vice President said.

JSC ALROSA is the largest diamond mining company in the world, which is ranked first by physical volumes and second – by the price of produced diamonds. In 2011 the company’s output amounted to 34.55 million carats. The company’s probable reserves make up about one third of the world’s diamond resources.
