OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. The professional skill contest among emergency teams responsible for servicing of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids started in Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC. The contest among teams in the district of the electric grids of the Severnoye PD took place on May 15-17. The most skillful specialists in the Alatyr and Yuzhnoye PDs will be chosen on May 23-25. According to the Regulations, the contest encompasses six stages. The contest will be traditionally started with inspection of the equipment used by the teams (special clothes, protective equipment, tools, accessories and required documents). Then, the participants will demonstrate their knowledge of the applicable regulations, guidelines and standards. At the next most important and challenging stage the teams will remove an injured person from the electric contact on 10 kV power transmission line support and render him/her first aid. Wiremen will compete in a quick and accurate elimination of equipment malfunctions, replacement of bare wires with self-supported isolated wires, measurement of phase-neutral loop resistance, selection of protection for the equipment and in fire extinguishing in the transformer bay of 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. The professional skill contest yearly held in Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC proves the excellence of Company's personnel and their ability to operate in tough conditions. “Such events allow both to evaluate the level of professional skills and to improve the performance and safety of servicing of the electric grids, to show up-to-date methods and practices contributing to safe execution of works,” emphasized the personnel of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC. The professional skill contest among the teams of insulation and overvoltage protection services of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, will be held on the training ground of Krasnochetay REG and Alatyr Production Department in mid-June. Winners of the contest will represent Chuvashenergo at the competition among teams of IDGC of Volga, JSC.
