OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. The professional skill contest among the emergency teams responsible for servicing of 0.4-10 kV transmission lines was held in Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, and its three Production Departments. The contest taking place before large-scale repair operations allows to evaluate the professional skills of teams, improve the quality and safety of maintenance of the equipment of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids, share the best industry practices and to improve the professional qualification. This year, Dimitrovgradskoe and Yuzhnoye Production Departments hosted the initial stage of the contest. Nine emergency teams of the regional electric grids (REG) struggled for the “Best Team” award on a specially equipped training ground in the Ryazanovo settlement and the Novospasskoe urban settlement. The teams of the following seven districts of electric grids participated in the contest initiated by Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, in the regional center: the Ulyanovsk, Maynskiy, Tsilninskiy, Sengileevskiy, Karsunskiy, Surskiy and Terengulskiy districts. During three days, power engineers competed against each other by performing special production tasks, extinguishing fire in training electric installations, removing an injured person (dummy man) from electric contact and rendering first aid. Basing upon the contest results, the team servicing electric grids of the Maynskiy district gained the first place. Honored guests, representatives of the Regional Department of DOSAAF of Russian for the Ulyanovsk region, attended the medal ceremony jointly with the power engineers. Vladimir Mashkov, Deputy Chairman, gave duplicates of the Banner of Victory to REG teams. These duplicates were manufactured in Moscow and delivered to Ulyanovsk under the historical and memorial action “Relay Race of the Banner of Victory” launched by IDGC Holding, JSC. Taking the banner from DOSAAF's representative, Vladimir Prokofiev, foreman of the winning team, declared: "To come back home as winners of the Professional Skill Contest and to fulfill an important mission for transportation of the Banner of Victory to REG is a honourable and symbolic event for our team." The professional skill contest held in Baryshsky Production Department of Ulyanovsk DG, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, involved five emergency teams. Power engineers competed in almost realistic conditions. The personnel of Inza REG won the first prize as the most skillful emergency team. However, the difference between the score points of struggling teams was minor, thus evidencing high professional qualification of all participants.
