OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2012. According to the payment balance of Moldova, in January-March, 2012 main energy suppliers of Moldova were Russia (63%of a total volume of the import), Romania (17.2%), Belarus (9.7%) and Ukraine (4.3%).

Energy supplies to Moldova from CIS increased 24.3% from USD 192.72 mln. to USD 239.51 mln., whereas supplies from non-CIS states decreased 8.1% from USD 78.26 mln. to USD 71.89 mln.

The fuel import to Moldova from CIS, including petrol and diesel, increased 15.2% from USD 47.63 mln. to USD 54.86 mln., whereas the fuel import from non-CIS states decreased 8.1% from USD 78.22 mln. to USD 71.85 mln. The greatest volumes of diesel were supplied to Moldova from Romania (42.1%), Belarus (36.5%), Ukraine (13.7%) and Israel (7.7%).

The main supplier of petrol to Moldova was Romania, which delivered 68.8% of all petrol imported to our country in Q1, 2012. Then follow: Belarus -11%, Bulgaria - 7.2%, Lithuania and Hungary - 7.1% and 5.9% respectively. As compared with the same period of 2011, in Q1, 2012 the natural gas import to Moldova declined 2% to 516,15 mln. c.m. in natural terms. Expressed in money, it grew 30% to USD 180,.39 mln.

Gazprom was the only supplier of gas to Moldova. At the same time, the coal import from CIS decreased 32.5% to USD 4.26 mln. in monetary terms and 35.9% to 28.43 thou. in natural ones. The main coal supplier to Moldova was Ukraine which sold Moldova 86.3% of a total amount of the coal imported. A share of Russia was 12.7%.
