Marketing Office of ROSATOM Registered in Singapore
OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. Another marketing office of the ROSATOM’s global network has been opened in Singapore. The office was registered as a branch of Rusatom Overseas.
Tasks of the new office are the ROSATOM’s business development in South East Asia and Australia, in particular, the marketing and promotion of the Russian nuclear technologies in the said markets, search for promising projects and attraction of investors to these projects, as well as development of relations with potential customers, partners and regulators in this region. Andrey Kashtanov was appointed the director of the marketing office.
“The opening of marketing offices is one of key tools of expansion of the Russian nuclear power technologies in the global market. The marketing offices will merge efforts and increase work efficiency of the nuclear industry enterprises in our partners’ countries, as well as will allow promoting the ROSATOM’s integrated offer in new, promising markets,” Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General of ROSATOM for development and international business, said.
Komarov believes that the advantageous geographic position of the state, as well as its role of a key financial, economic and industrial centers of South East Asia conditioned the selection of Singapore as the starting point for the development of further activities of ROSATOM in the this region.
“The plans of nuclear power development in South East Asia and Australia imply construction of up to 15 reactors until 2030 that makes this region one of the most promising ones for the development of ROSATOM’s business,” Alexey Kalinin, Director General of Rusatom Overseas, noted.
At the present time, a key project of ROSATOM in the region is the construction of Ninh Thuan-1 NPP in Vietnam. In 2010 and 2011 Russia and Vietnam signed intergovernmental agreements concerning the NPP construction and provision of an export loan for the project. JSC TVEL (the Fuel Company of ROSATOM) is also a supplier of nuclear fuel for research reactors of Vietnam. Besides, ROSATOM is the main shareholder of the uranium mining company Uranium One Inc., which, in turn, owns 51% of shares in the Australian uranium deposit Honeymoon.
The first marketing office of ROSATOM was opened in Kiev (Ukraine) in March 2012.
