OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2012. A charity point was set up on Sviaz-Bank grounds to collect humanitarian aid from anybody who wanted to give anything to help people who had suffered from a flood in Krasnodar Territory, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.

On July 6, 2012, several areas in Krasnodar Territory were hit by a flood, and a wave almost six meters high overflowed the town of Krymsk on the Kuban River. Apart from Krymsk, several populated areas suffered as well, including the cities of Novorossiysk and Gelenjik and the townships of Divnomorskoye, Nizhnebakinskaya, Neberdjayevskaya, and Kabardinka. According to official reports, more than a hundred people perished, and thousands of houses were destroyed.

Employees of Sviaz-Bank in Moscow and branches donated mattresses, plaids, towels, baby food, and over 400,000 rubles in cash. Some of the cash was used to buy drinking water, articles of personal hygiene, throwaway dishware, garbage bags, and much else. The remaining funds were transferred to the account of the Russian Red Cross national public organization.

The Bank is grateful to everybody who had a part in collecting personal belongings and cash for people who had suffered from the flood.
