Belarus Posts 1.3% Inflation for First 24 Days of July

With the arrival of new vegetables and fruits, the retail price of beet roots grew 60%, potatoes 36.4%, carrots – 36.2%, onions – 33.3%, apples – 15.8%.
The largest increase in retail prices was registered with vodka (7.1%), bread and bakery goods (6.4%), dry baby food and diet food (4.5%), beer (3.7%), live fish (2.6%), condensed milk with sugar (2%), processed cheese, (1.9%), wheat flour, spice cakes (1.8%), prefabricated poultry, beef (except for boneless meat), first-grade boiled sausage, canned meat, butter, biscuits, pasta, soft beverages (1.1-1.7%), wallpaper (0.9%), detergents (0.7%), suburban train fares (20%) long-distance railway communication (5.2%), healthcare vacations (10.8%), household services (3.2%).
As previously reported, Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 108.7% in 2011, although the initial forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%.
