OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. The rolling mill platform of Baosteel 2030 cold rolling unit is full of the festive atmosphere. At the time of 24 anniversary after it was put into production, 2030 cold rolling unit has achieved 50 million tons of rolling amount. In the cheerful music, Baosteel general manager, Ma Guoqiang and deputy general manager, Wang Jing unveiled for the 50th million ton of coils of 2030 cold rolling production, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

In September, 1988, 2030 cold rolling successfully rolled the first coil of cold rolling strip of Baosteel, from which the spanning type innovation development of Baosteel cold rolling has begun. At the beginning of 2030 cold rolling construction, the product positioning is the cold rolling product for the ordinary building. In the second year after it was put into production, in order to adapt to the development needs of the domestic automobile industry, the Baosteel people have the dream of creating the world-class level to start the hard exploration and practice of producing the car plates on the basis that the equipment conditions and experience of producing the car plates are not completely equipped with.

Since it was put into production 24 years ago, 2030 cold rolling has created many "Domestic First": In June, 1989, 2030 cold rolling successfully rolled the first batch of automobile outer plates and delivered the export contract of the first batch. In 1992, it successfully rolled 4600 tons of coinage steel and in July, 1995, it successfully rolled the first batch of elevator steel. In 1996, 2030 cold rolling successfully conquered the fully continuous rolling difficulties of the cold rolling thickness specifications and realized the successful applications of the dynamic plate type technology. In 2005, it successfully rolled the first batch of 80 kilograms level of high strength steel……

With the achievement of 50 million tons of rolling amount, 2030 rolling mill has had the excellent achievement of cumulatively creating 3 million tons of the high-end automobile outer plates and 2 million tons of the fingerprint resistant plates. The annual production of the unit is also raised from the originally designed 2.1 million tons to the present high level of 2.6 million tons and the product series have realized the leap from the ordinal construction steel to the high-end products such as the car plates, fingerprint resistant plates and household electrical appliances plates etc. At present, the overall operation efficiency, the key economical and technical indexes and the product quality level etc of 2030 cold rolling are all at the leading level of the domestic similar units. The high-end product proportion of the car plates and household electrical appliances plates etc has reached more than 40% of the annual production.

At the celebration ceremony, the leadership team of the cold rolling plant promised stately on behalf of all the cadres and employees: They shall take the successful achievement of 50 million tons of rolling amount of 2030 cold rolling unit as a new starting point to practise Baosteel culture with all their strength, carry forward the cold rolling spirit of " Being serious and demanding, persistent,collaborative and highly efficient and pursuit of excellence" and make new contributions for Baosteel to be established as the most competitive high-quality product base of the carbon steel flat product in the world and the listed company with the largest investment value under the joint efforts of the brother departments.

Ma Guoqiang expressed warm congratulations on the successful achievement of 50 million tons of rolling amount of 2030 cold rolling unit of the cold rolling plant on behalf of Baosteel and also expressed the heartfelt thanks to the successive old leaders, old seniors and all cadres and employees who had participated in the cold rolling construction and development. He hoped that the cold rolling plant would take this as a new starting point and impetus to move forward, continue to carry forward 85?9 spirit and continuously improve the development strength of the product capacity of the high-end products and new products during Baosteel secondary pioneering process and under the current severe market situation to make greater contributions to the industrial upgrading of the downstream industry and the construction of the cold rolling competitive products base of "the largest scale, the most complete variety, the best quality, the most reasonable cost and the most profitable ability ".
