OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2012. Ukraine is interested in studding and applying the experience of Norway on the construction of hydropower plants. This was stated by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a briefing in Oslo.

"Norway is almost one hundred percent self-sufficient in renewable energy. We are very interested in this experience and we pay more attention to the development of small hydro power in Ukraine", Mykola Azarov said.

Thus he has underlined that Ukraine has significant potential to enhance the development of hydropower. According to him, the construction of hydroelectric power plants is much cheaper than building nuclear power plants.
