External Debt of Moldova Up 3,1%
OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2013. A total external debt of Moldova made up USD1 bln. 177.73 mln. as of the end of November, 2012, USD 35.25 mln. (3.1%) up since the beginning of the year. The increase was determined by external loans’ exceeding the debt service payments, InfoMarket was said in the Finance Ministry.
In January-November, 2012 Moldova was provided with external loans at a sum of USD 80.62 mln., whereas external debt principal payments made up USD 47.63 mln. Thus, the external financing made up USD 32.99 mln. within 11 months of 2012.
Besides, the growth in the USD exchange rate against other currencies increased the external state debt of Moldova by USD 2.26 mln. more, and as a result, it grew by USD 35.25 mln. within January-November, 2012.
As of January 1, 2012 the external state debt of Moldova made up about около USD 1 bln. 142.47 mln. It increased USD 26.3 mln. or 2.4% within 2011.
